I’ve not been posting much lately on account of being rather busy. It’s impressive how much time a toddler and a newborn take up! Add to that book illustration contract and that leaves barely anytime for sleep let alone personal work. Not that I’m complaining…not even close. I’ve just learned to be VERY organised with time and to live on very little sleep! 🙂 Now, the book is done, I do have some other side projects, but hopefully I will be able to squeeze in some personal work.
Here’s a quick one I got to do today for #portraitchallenge from @StudioTeaBreak
I found myself with some me time earlier this week and what did I do with it? Not catch up on sleep! No sir! I did this cute little singing frog for the folks at #pinchpunchpost.
Who knows when I’ll have more time? Until then remember…
‘Imagination will take you EVERYWHERE.”
So much for trying to post daily!
I guess I’ll just have to accept that I will post as often as I can. Sometimes it will be daily…other times weekly. Here are some mousy sketches for today.
Well, I wish I had known January 21 was Squirrel Appreciation Day. Nevertheless, I honour of Squirrel Appreciation Day, here are my character sketches of squirrels.
I’ve been really enjoying this time off for the holidays. Things got hectic just before and it’s been awhile since I had time to sit down and get some sketching done. One of my resolutions will be to do more drawing/illustrating. I’ve come to realize how much I need and desire to illustrate. The days where I don’t get to sit down and draw I got to bed feeling as though I forgot to do something.
Here is one of my recent sketches as well as the colour version.
Finally had a chance to sit down and do some sketching. Not sure how much I’ll be able to do over the next few days what with all the family stuffs up ahead, but here are a couple I thought I’d share.
So in honour of the upcoming holiday season, I’ve created a new set of prints for the fine people over at Flipside Prints. Feel free to hop on over to check it out and all the others that are up for grabs.

I don’t usually share stuff from my personal life but I wanted to share this one so I used the opportunity to come up with an illustration for it. I don’t think it needs more explaining…
It’s done…well that is until I decide to tweak it. I am trying out this new mantra:
“Finished not Perfect”.
I came across this youtube video by Jeff Parker and it really resonated. I am guilty of starting things and not finishing them because they are not perfect. But let’s be honest…when is anything we ever do perfect (in our eyes). He says to just finish whatever you are doing, be aware that it’s not perfect, but don’t stress about it…you will only get better. Anyways, check out the clip it’s under 2 minutes.
Without further ado, here’s my finished piece.
It’s not perfect, but it’s finished. I’d love to have your comments on it.
Few people have ever come across this friendly little guy…but he sure wishes more people would…maybe they could help him get down.
