More Sketching

So this is what I do with my lunch hour. It’s good to break away from the computer screen and rest the eyes. Not to mention is feel good putting pencil to paper. Do you just love the sound of a pencil on paper? I don’t know about you but there’s something soothing about it.

Character Doodle

So this may not have been a good week to start a lunchtime challenge. I was unable to complete the challenge on Thursday because I got to do something a pretty cool. We got to have a tour of the factory. For those of you who don’t know I work for MegaBlocks  in Montreal and we actually make most of the blocks on site. I work in package design for the company. It was so cool to be able to see the process from the beginning all the way to the end where the blocks are then placed into the boxes we design. So that’s why I wasn’t able to do a doodle page, however I did find myself with some free time yesterday around lunchtime… and this is what I doodled…

I’m thinking I may do something with this little guy. What do you think?

Lunchtime Doodle Challenge

I’ve decided to start a new challenge and I would like to invite anyone and everyone to join in. I call it the lunch time doodle challenge. I’ve decided that dunring my lunch hour, I will fill a sketchbook page with doodles. I’m doing this in an effort to actually take my lunch hour and to get away from the computer screen. Now I only have 4 lunch hours a week (half day fridays), so I will only be posting 4 page a week. But the point of this is to take a break at work and do something else. If you would like to join in tag your doodle with #LDC or #lunchtimedoodle

I started yesterday so here are my first two pages.

Daily Digital 13

Okay so the only digital part about this was the levels adjustment of the scans. Took a much needed break from sitting in front of the computer. Sometimes you just need to step away. So I thought I’d play with markers and pens…and here’s what I got. Was inspired by a couple children’s books.

Daily Digital will return after these messages…

Unfortunately I had a deadline to meet yesterday and was unable to post a daily digital. After a long day, sitting in front of the computer working I decided I needed a break. So I turned my chair around and rolled to the other side of the room and sat at my drawing table. I picked up my pencil, my pen and my markers and did some doodling. So in lieu, of a digital painting yesterday I did some doodling on paper and I thought I’d share that with y’all.

Stay tuned….I will be posting a daily digital a little later this evening. 🙂 For now enjoy these….

This week’s theme at Illustration Friday is – Spin.

Here’s my quick little illustration. I call him DJ Buns.

Another class project

One of our projects this semester is to create a poster for a circus. I’ve always thought the trapeze artist were the most breathtaking part of the circus. So it only seems natural that I feature trapeze artists in my poster. Here is my ink drawing for the project. Feel free to let me know what you think….and stay tuned I will be coloring this in the days to come.

My Brand and Logo

This was perhaps on of the hardest projects I’ve had to do for school. I’ve learned that I am my own worst client! It took me forever to come up with a design only to chuck it at the last minute and come up with this one. I think this really reflects myself and my art.

Final Book Cover

So earlier I post a some thumbnails for an Edgar Allan Poe book cover. I thought I’d share the final version.
